Lizzi Wood is a performer and dance educator based in Austin, Texas. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago in May 2016. While in school, she performed works by Erika Randall, Victor Alexander, Kristina Isabelle, Dr. Xi Zhang, Carrie Hanson, and Alexa Giacinto. While pursuing her studies, she also engaged in classes and workshops with world renowned choreographers Stephen Petronio, David Rousseve, Bill T. Jones, and Andrea Miller. Her second passion is writing, and as a dance blogger, she has interviewed artists such as Joe Goode, Rennie Harris, and Jawole Willa Jo Zollar. This is her third season with Dance Waterloo, where she has been seen in evening-length works Panorama Playground, Off the Wall, and Therefore. Currently, she is studying to become a certified instructor with Youth Protection Advocates in Dance, an organization committed to maintaining appropriate standards of education for children in the dance community. She also serves as Creative Director at PAIYH Dance Studios, where she teaches dance to all ages and abilities. She is ecstatic to be joining Dance Waterloo for more site specific adventures!
