ON THE HORIZON (2022)

A two-part site-specific dance performance took place at sunrise and sunset, challenging participants to a 180-degree shift in perspective. The adventure began at sunrise, with participants seated at the bottom of the Treehouse at Pease Park, enjoying the rising sun. Simultaneously, Dance Waterloo performed original choreography to the flowing violin of Melody Dalton across a suspended hammock in the Treehouse. Upon returning at sunset, the experience had a 180-degree effect as observers witnessed dance below the flowering flute of Monica Salas and even more original choreography. “On The Horizon” was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that invited participants to pause, wonder, and receive the restoring beauty of nature through a unique lens.
